Ashtanga
Vinyasa Yoga (sometimes referred to as Power Yoga) is both
an art
and a technology which addresses the physical, mental and
spiritual wellbeing
of the practitioner. This powerful practice of integrating
breath, movement and
awareness aligns, purifies and tones the body while it rejuvenates
the nervous
system and calms the mind. Ashtanga practitioners can ultimately
experience
profound states of Yoga (or union of body, mind and spirit)
on and off the mat.
The
Primary Series, the prescribed starting point for all students
of Ashtanga, is
the focus of this class. This workshop is designed to introduce
newcomers of
all fitness and flexibility levels to the fundamentals of
this dynamic discipline and
to safely lead them through portions of the Primary Series.
