talking about the third position
looking at the news papers and tv news, i am struck with many thoughts about the tsunami that has hit near shrilanka, india, malasyia, etc.

i am left with the thoughts of what can i do as the individual? pack a box of extra stuff, blankets and soforth and ship it over? ship it where? is the post even working?

my yogis this morning when i started to speak on it, said that water was the thing most missing right now. now that the fluds have arrived, torn up all the sweage pipes, the toilets overflowing, the saltwater mixed with the fresh water, clean water is a major issue. my yogis say that we will see in the next few weeks just as many people die from having been thursty, and drunk poluted waters, as have died so far.

i said it leaves me with a sence of futiliy and what can i do? any ideas out there? giving money doesnt really work, because often my yogis see that by giving money to institutions, only 5euro of the millions sent over gets into the hands of the individuals (bit of an exaggeration but you get the point). sending over food, often the sacks of food sent over from the usa, marked "this is a free gift for the xxx people starving", and you see it being sold on the black market when it is supposed to be in the hands free of the individual people starving. i said that is the problem not of the usa, but of the corrupt people in that country. they said, yah, and its a reality. its like that now.

i said, is taking the third position on things, getting out of the duality, the good and the bad of things, and just accepting them as they are, leaves me thinking that i become totally detatched from situations. he said on the contrairy, you can always have compassion. that it actually deepens your compassion. compassion for yourself, and because there is only ONE, compassion for others.

he said, water is wet. that is the most simple explanation. ask the zenmaster, what is the secret of life? he will say, water is wet.

its just a fact, independent of if you like it or not, and in what situations you like it or not. water is wet.

why does the cat not bark like a dog? because it's not in it's nature to do so. others would pick the cat apart, finding that the vocal chords are too small and soforth, is what i said, in order to find out the reason why. he said, this is just workings of the mind. you can give your mind a rest by just accepting things as they are. water is wet. the cat doesnt bark because it is not in the nature of the cat to do so.

they say that only humans have this ability to hypothosize. to pick appart the dark and the light and to categorize the things. good and evil. they say however, that all is ONE. dark and the light together. all is perfect. yes, there is rape and pillage and natural disasters, millions of questions that could keep the mind buisy with the WHY of it all. the only answer that puts the mind at rest, is the one of acceptance:

it is because it is. I AM. water is wet.

i said that it leaves me with a feeling that i can not change things. that things are as they are and will never be different. he said change is the only constant. everything is in change and shift. to say that is another making of the mind. another hypothisis to keep your self away from finding out who you are.

so my meditation for today is

WATER IS WET.

water is wet.
water is wet.
water is wet.
