so we arrive at 14.30 and go looking for the train to pompei. we find out it is a wee little train that goes outside napoli. it is very very very hot and sunny and we are sweaty. at the pompei city we get out and walk all day endlessly around. the thing i have come to understand is that in 2000 years, not much has changed in the basis. near the theater and the stadium they had streets that were lined with "macdonalds"-style fast food plaices. very colorful! i just wanted to see the dead people...
